I need help finding a troop for my girl

I need help finding a troop for my girl!
To find a troop for your girl, first we’ll need to know if your she is currently a member in a troop.

My girl is not a member; this is our first time signing up for Girl Scouts!
To find the open troops in your area fill out the interest form located here: Join Now! After we find out a little bit about your girl you will be able to view the Opportunity Catalog. After pressing “Search” it will create a list which provides the day, frequency, and approximate location of all of the open troops in your zip code. If you do not see any troops that would be a good fit, you can expand the search radius or change the zip code to broaden your search. Once you’ve found a great troop for your girl click the checkbox next to the troop and press Continue.
Can’t find a troop that looks like a good fit? Feel free to select Unsure to let us know that you would like some extra help finding a great placement for your girl. A Placement Specialist will reach out shortly.

Next you will want to purchase a membership for your girl. During this process you will be asked to accept our Girl Scout Promise and Law and will be shown your Registration Summary. Would you like to join your girl on her Girl Scout journey? If you plan on being at three or more meetings or events this year we ask that you sign on as a volunteer! It is quick and easy and allows you to more fully participate in your girl’s Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Just select Add a Membership, select Adult, then Troop Support Volunteer for the same troop you selected for your girl. You’ll be invited to do a background check to complete your registration via email.
Once you have purchased the membership the Troop Leadership Team will receive word that they have a new girl and will reach out in the following days.

Congratulations, your girl is now officially a Girl Scout!

My girl is currently in a troop, but I am interested in finding a new troop for her.

After pressing Search it will create a list which provides the day, frequency, and approximate location of all of the open troops in your zip code. If you do not see any troops that might fit your family’s needs, you can expand the search radius or change the zip code to find other troops. If your girl has an active membership you’re all set! If not, the system will prompt you to renew for the year. Once you have completed the membership the Troop Leadership Team will receive word that they have a new girl and will reach out in the following days.

I have a troop in mind that I am trying to register my girl for, but it is not showing up in the Opportunity Catalog.
To find a specific troop in the Opportunity Catalog enter the number in the Troop # field and press Search.
There are many different reasons you may not be able to find a troop in the Opportunity Catalog.
  • The troop is full. Once a troop meets its maximum number of girls in our system it is taken out of the Opportunity Catalog. If this is the case, reach out to your Troop Leadership Team for their help.
  • The troop is not in your home zip code. The system searches based on the criteria in the four search fields. If your troop is not located in the same zip code, it will not populate. Expanding your search radius to 20 miles will usually alleviate this issue.
  • Your troop number is incorrect. All troops follow a 5-digit naming rule. Many troop leaders will casually refer to their troop by three or four numbers, but every troop has 5 numbers beginning with a region code. If your troop leader has only given you 4 numbers, try to add the region as the first number that corresponds to your region below:
Region Number Region Name Example Troop Number
Region 1 Western Slope 18975
Region 2 Southwestern Colorado 28324
Region 3 San Luis Valley and Southeast Colorado 39316
Region 4 Pikes Peak 40008
Region 5 Mountain Communities 52899
Region 6 Metro Denver 69003
Region 7 Northern and Northeastern Colorado 72897

If you still cannot find your troop in the Opportunity Catalog select Unsure. A text box will appear and ask why you are unsure, in this box enter the troop number you are attempting to join, as well as any other identifying information we can use to find your correct troop. You will be contacted by a member of our staff to assist you.
